Welcome to our Wonderful Families of PS 1

We at PS 1 want to welcome you with open arms. 

 

Our Goal at PS1 is to welcome you to our family. We will be together for the next six years. As your children grow in our school, we will develop Leaders and nurture their Creativity.

 

PS 1 is my home and we want it to feel like your home. I began as a teacher here twenty five years ago. There is nothing better than to say “I was born at PS 1”.

 

We are truly a tight knit community. Our Parent Teacher Association is composed of parents that only want the very best for all of our Leaders and will work tirelessly to bring exciting opportunities for our whole community. 

 

As a team we will work to create a safe school environment for all students. Keeping our community secure and healthy is one of our top priorities. 

 

We believe the possibilities for our leaders are limitless and we want to create the mindset throughout our school community. “PS 1 is a community to belong to and a space to thrive”.

Arrival and Dismissal

Pre-K / SC1: 

  • Arrival- 8:10am: Parents/ Guardians will drop-off students in the mini-school at their classroom door. 
  • Dismissal - 2:25pm: Parents/ Guardians will pick-up students in the mini-school from their classroom. 

Kindergarten:

  • Arrival-8:10am: Parent / Guardian will drop-off students in the classroom from September 7th until September 15th. On September 18th students will line up at the main entrance and enter without parents and guardians. 
  • Dismissal-2:25pm: Parents/ Guardians will enter the building via the main entrance and pick up students from their classroom at 2:25 everyday. Families will exit from the upper 46th street door. 

1st Grade: 

  • Arrival-8:10am: Students will line up in the School Yard from September 7th until September 22nd. On Tuesday September 26th students will line up and enter through the upper 46th Street for the remainder of the year.
  • Dismissal 2:25pm: Students will be dismissed in the school yard at 2:25pm.

2nd Grade / SC2:

  • Arrival-8:10am: Students will line up in the School Yard from September 7th until September 22nd. On Tuesday September 26th students will line up and enter through the upper 46th Street for the remainder of the year.c
  • Dismissal-2:25pm: Students will be dismissed in the school yard at 2:25pm.

3rd Grade / SC3:

  • Arrival- 8:10am: Students will line up and enter through the Cafeteria Door on lower 47th Street.
  • Dismissal-2:25pm: Students will exit and be dismissed on upper 47th Street.

4th Grade:

  • Arrival- 8:10am: Students will line up and enter through the Cafeteria Door on lower 47th Street.
  • Dismissal-2:25pm: Students will exit and be dismissed on upper 47th Street.

5th Grade / SC4:

  • Arrival- 8:10am: Students will line up and enter through the upper 46th Street.
  • Dismissal-2:25pm: Students will be dismissed on upper 46th Street.
